Southern Caregiver Resource Center (SCRC)

The Southern Caregiver Resource Center is a private, nonprofit organization that helps families and caregivers by providing services that are inclusive of all issues related to caring for an older adult. As one of eleven sites in the Caregiver Resource Center (CRC) system throughout California, SCRC is funded by an annual, renewable grant with the California State Department of Mental Health. The County of San Diego Aging and Independence Services is a primary funder as well. Other revenue is provided by foundations, grants, and private donations.

The mission of SCRC is to help families and communities master the challenges of caring for adults through cost-effective and prevention-oriented programs and services that address the emotional, physical, and financial needs of family caregivers.

The SCRC specializes in understanding and working with caregivers of frail, older adults or adults with chronic and disabling conditions or disease such as Alzheimer's disease, stroke, Parkinson's disease, and acquired brain injury.
