During
a sunrise walk, a boy was seen dancing in the waves on the
sand. Every now and then, he would bend over, pick up a starfish
and toss it into the ocean.
When asked why, he said,
"The tide is going out, if I don't throw them in, they
will die!"
He was told, "There
are so many starfish laying on this huge beach, you can't
possibly make a difference."
Bending over, he picked
up another starfish and stated, as he threw it into the ocean,
"I made a difference for that one!"
This person's actions represent
something special in each of us THE ABILITY TO MAKE
A DIFFERENCE!

Star Thrower" written by Loren Eiseley (1907-1977)
